This past Monday, chapters of the College Republicans of America hosted memorial events on their campus to honor the lives lost on 9/11 on the 22nd anniversary of the unprovoked attack on our nation, that lead us all to promise to Never Forget what we as a nation witnessed on that tragic day. While there were many successful events held that yesterday, we decided to highlight three. College Republican groups, and their events.

The College Republicans at the University of Arizona held a flag planting event on their campus yesterday, where they planted 2,977 flags in remembrance of the people whose lives were suddenly stolen from them. “Every year we put together a display to honor the fallen lives of 9/11. It’s an honor and a privilege to lead a club that never forgets the tragedy that occurred 22 years ago. We will never forget.”- Ricky Guthridge, President of the University of Arizona College Republicans.

The California Poly Pomona College Republicans held a tabling event yesterday to remember 9/11 rather than holding their usual meeting. We were able to speak to the club’s president where he said that “Despite what the actions of certain leaders suggest, some have not forgotten”.

At UMass Boston, the College Republicans on campus held a tabling event at their campus center. They held a fundraiser for Tuesday’s Children, which is an organization that helps to support the families of those who lost their lives on the attacks. “We wanted to make sure that what we were doing would also help benefit the families directly, since we understand that the pain and damage done to them by this tragic event can never be fixed fully in due time but can rather be helped by the support of others in the long term.”
