Today, the California College Republicans (CC) join the chorus of applause over the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, which found the Constitution does not protect abortion and returned regulation over abortion to the states.

The 5-4 majority opinion, written by Justice Samuel Alito, stated that "We hold that Roe and [the 1992 Planned Parenthood vs.] Casey must be overruled," and "The Constitution makes no reference to abortion, and no such right is implicitly protected by any constitutional provision, including the one on which the defenders of Roe and Casey now chiefly rely - the Due Process Clause of the 14th Amendment."

Will Donahue, chairman of the California College Republicans, said the decision made today an historic and great day in America.

"Today marks the beginning of the end with respect to the practice of murdering unborn children," said Donahue. "With the end of Roe v. Wade, the United States will enter a new age of respect for the inherent dignity of all mankind."

Under Donahue and former chairmen Nick Ortiz and Kimo Gandall, the California College Republicans have been firmly pro-life. Our organization is excited for this historic milestone that will advance the pro-life movement and save countless babies across the country.
